Featured Resource: Cool Things in Nature!

CTiN taught me that dragonflies have
30 thousand receptors in each of
their eyes, while humans have only
one! SO COOL.
Hi GEEKs readers! Welcome to our first Featured Resource post, covering one of the coolest environmental education websites that can be found on our Resources page. This resource, Cool Things in Nature, is all about proving that Cool Things in Nature can be found anywhere and appreciated by anyone.

Visit the Cool Things in Nature website here!

What is Cool Things in Nature?
CTiN is a website full of creative, entertaining environmental education videos that cover everything from dragonfly metamorphosis to building a quinzee (what is a quinzee? You'll have to watch the CTiN "Quinzees" video on this page to find out!).  Videos come from different outdoor locations across
the country, and are sorted into locations in California, the Midwest, the Southwest, and Washington, as well as international videos. CTiN also features many enthusiastic guest hosts of all ages- check out the "Snapping Turtles" video on the site's "Midwest" page to learn all about snapping turtles from a little kid!
Hint: you'll need
this to build
a quinzee!

Can it Get Any Cooler Than That?
Yes! If you have a camera and an enthusiastic love of nature that you'd like to share, you and your friends can contribute videos to the CTiN website to make it even cooler. For more information, check out the CTiN "About" page here.
