How GEEKs Started:

We started GEEKs in December 2011, when we were just 3 high school students attending Conserve School, an environmental semester boarding school. Although we all lived in different states, we shared an interest in teaching younger kids about the environment. GEEKs was formed as a way to share information, resources, advice and stories related to environmental education, as well as empower high school-age students like ourselves to teach younger children.The group has been growing since then as we keep meeting more people who want to join us!
